Project Description

Development Directive were instrumental in negotiating a significant mixed use development approval in the mining town of Alpha in south-western Queensland.

Alpha is a regional Queensland town within the Barcaldine Regional Council which is expected to experience significant population growth as a result of the mining of the Galilee Basin. Alpha Village is a large residential mixed use development which is intended to provide off-lease long term housing and amenities to the expected working population. Alpha Village will be self sufficient in terms of infrastructure & servicing and will establish a community consisting of 264 dwellings, 120 room hotel, conference centre and tavern.

Development Directive took over the application following circa 5 years of assessment which had come to a stalemate due to infrastructure servicing issues. Development Directive appointed a new consultant team to reconsider and redesign water usage and servicing and then presented this to Councillors and Council officers. The application was approved within 4 months of Development Directive taking over.
